Swiss heritage sheep breeding in the heart of California wine country
Vineyard Valais is a veterinarian-led, boutique breeding and farming operation located in Paso Robles, California. We are dedicated to preserving the authentic Swiss Valais Blacknose standard while advancing sustainable and regenerative farming practices through science-based management and heritage expertise.
We are dedicated to maintaining the integrity, structure, and temperament of the breed aligned with traditional Swiss ideals. Our program upholds these standards through exceptional care and regenerative agriculture. We raise exceptional purebred breeding and elite show stock with an unwavering commitment to genetic integrity, sound animal health, sustainability, and ethical farming methods.
Our operation spans 56 acres in Paso Robles, California. The estate includes The Six—a 30-acre red wine vineyard located in the renowned Adelaide AVA, producing world-class grapes.
This integration reflects our holistic approach to land stewardship, where soil health, biodiversity, and beauty work together. Our sheep thrive in this unique environment where vineyard and pasture exist in harmony, combining livestock and viticulture in a sustainable, regenerative model.
