Valais in California 😎

Back to the vineyard we go! Turn up the sound! Trained to the grain…🌾🌾🌾

Recipients are officially 1 month out!! Pretty happy in their big green pasture. Rains had us taking them off the vineyard this week, they should go back in a few days…racing bud break!

Oops My Vet is showing 😂. Getting ready for the big push of Valais lambs and with multiple people in the barn records are so helpful to tame chaos!

It’s raining Gotlands lambs! 💗

Let the ladies out to explore the larger pasture!

Recipients enjoying their vineyard cover crop feast! Lambs will start coming mid April! We have multiple sets of different excellent genetics from imported and domestic (IVF) embryos. We will be selling lambs of both sexes this year from ewes that graded -1 in Iowa paired with both Parkdale Isa and Iowas Kobra Kai. More to come on UK embryo lamb info! Website is “still loading” but contact us if you want to get on our interest list or want more details.

After spending yesterday and last night huddled together figuring out how to be on the vineyard, the sheep have started to spread out to graze! They are respecting the invisible fence well. How cool is it that I can check on them with my morning coffee?!

Just because they are cute in their purple coats to keep them warm in the coming rain after a fresh shearing in preparation for shows in June!!!

Update! Mom got through surgery and baby is still viable! We just have to get mom eating again now. We sent a recipient ewe to @ucdavisvetmed last night (check out the cool cart! She is now awaiting surgery for a reticular foreign body! The whole team there is on it with a (hopefully) baby sparing anesthesia protocol. We treated at home for what we thought was shipping fever after transport due to elevated RR and fever but she took a nosedive so we sent her. X-rays found the foreign body! Wish her and her IVF begotten lamb some good sheep luck! 🍀 🐑 🍀

They are finally home!!!!!! A late night delivery. Recipients are out in the big field and Lilac and LaNina get their own pen. More photos to come when it’s not so dark 😅

The ladies seem to have settled into the barn nicely! Little do they know they avoided being outside in 5 inches of rain yesterday!!! Anxiously awaiting the arrival of their new friends today! All the valais embryo surrogates and LaNina and Lilac arrive from Indiana later this afternoon!

Almost ready for the Wensleydale and Gotland ladies to come in for lambing tomorrow! Just a few more things…

Could not be more excited to have the first of our flock fitted with the @nofence system! They will stay in a fenced pasture for training for at least a week but after that we can move them wherever we would like on @thesixvineyard no fences needed!!! #agtechnology #nofence

So excited for the IVF lambs coming this spring from this matchup! @parkdaleblacknose @reprospecialty

This glorious contraption is called a Spin Doctor! The sheep run in and viola spin ‘em sideways to work on ‘em, sheep is calm, back is happy! Genius…

So excited for our new working equipment going up!!!! @sydell.inc

Merry Christmas to us!!! All of our lambing pens and sheep working equipment has arrived!!! Now there is a giant 3-D jigsaw puzzle to put together! 🎄🧩🐑
